Machine Configuration
This single-end machine is arranged with five stations on one side for trim, tenon, jump cope, and cope operations on window components. Servo and ball-screw adjustments position tooling horizontally and vertically at multiple stations. The trim station’s vertical adjustment is manual. The fourth and fifth stations each include a 10-position rotary stile tool changer with servo rotation. The sizing fence is mounted on hardened steel rails with linear bearings and uses servo and ball-screw adjustment.
Part Feeding and Transfer
Parts are fed by a padded-face chain with bolt-on feed lugs and driven, interlocking hold-down blocks that travel on two steel chains with self-lubricating chainways. The feeding system also includes a lower hold-back assembly with an adjustable brake and non-marking UHMW hold-back components. A proximity sensor at the hold-back assembly activates an over-thickness switch. At the outfeed, a five-belt system transfers rails to a customer-supplied conveyor, with three belts extending toward the front of the machine to serve as outboard stock supports.
