AutoCAD Electrical Designer
Job description
We are currently seeking a highly skilled AutoCAD Electrical Designer with a strong background in designing, drafting, and modifying complex electrical control systems. In this role, you will collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, and documentation packages that meet safety, performance, and compliance standards. Your designs will directly support the reliable and efficient operation of our custom industrial machinery and automation systems.

Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and develop detailed electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical
- Create and maintain project-specific templates, title blocks, and custom symbols to ensure drawing consistency and efficiency
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA 70, UL508A, and IEC
- Build and manage standardized AutoCAD Electrical libraries, including blocks, templates, and macros
- Collaborate with engineers to select and size electrical components, cable types, wire gauges, power distribution methods, and protective devices
- Automatically generate accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), wire lists, and terminal schedules from project files
- Support revision control and maintain accurate documentation through all project phases
- Contribute to design reviews and suggest improvements for system efficiency, safety, and ease of maintenance
- Work with panel builders and field technicians to ensure designs are accurately interpreted during assembly and installation
Position Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in electrical design, preferably in custom machinery, industrial automation, or control systems
- Proven expertise with AutoCAD Electrical, including advanced schematic development, panel layout, and report generation
- Familiarity with Rockwell Automation products including PLCs, VFDs, and servo drives
- Experience working with industrial components in automation and control systems
- Familiarity with electrical standards such as NEC, NFPA 70, UL508A, and IEC
- Ability to manage and improve design workflows using standardized tools, templates, and design libraries
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality design
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
