Quality Control

Quality Assurance & Control – Built into Every Step

At Progressive Systems, Inc., quality isn’t just inspection, it’s a system designed to ensure every part meets specification, performance, and fits requirements from planning through final delivery.

Our Quality Assurance program emphasizes prevention over correction, combining experienced personnel, defined processes, and advanced inspection technology to deliver consistent, predictable results.

Our Quality Philosophy

We believe quality must be built into the process, not just inspected in the end. Our team reviews customer requirements, drawings, tolerances, and inspection needs before fabrication begins, ensuring alignment early and reducing fabrication delays later.

End-to-End Quality Process

1. Pre-Production Planning

Before work begins, quality requirements are reviewed alongside engineering intent. Inspection plans and critical features are identified up front to ensure proper controls are in place throughout fabrication.

2. In-Process Inspection

Quality checks are performed at defined stages during fabrication, machining, and assembly. This approach allows potential issues to be identified and corrected early, when adjustments are fastest and most effective.

3. Final Verification & Documentation

Completed parts are verified against customer specifications. Inspection records, dimensional reports, and First Article Inspection Reports are available upon request to support customer documentation and compliance needs.

I think this section should have a different highlighting if it’s the only place on the website that this is mentioned so it stands out from the rest of the text on the page:

4. Certified Welding Inspection & Oversight

Progressive Systems maintains an in-house AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)  to provide qualified oversight of welding activities and weld inspection.

Our CWI supports:

  • Review and oversight of welding procedures
  • Verification of weld quality and workmanship
  • In-process and final weld inspection
  • Compliance with applicable codes and customer requirements

Having this expertise in-house allows welding quality to be monitored continuously, not just at project completion, but ensuring consistent results across all welded assemblies.

5. Inspection Technology

To support accuracy and repeatability, our QA department utilizes advanced inspection and measurement equipment, including articulated arms, laser tracking systems, coordinate measurement capabilities, and precision gauges. All inspection equipment is maintained under a calibration program to ensure reliable results.

6. Accountability

Quality at Progressive Systems is driven by trained personnel who understand fabrication processes and customer expectations. Inspection responsibilities are clearly defined, procedures are standardized, and accountability is maintained throughout each project.

7. Continuous Improvement

We track quality performance, investigate nonconformances, and apply corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Lessons learned are shared across teams to continually improve processes, reduce risk, and deliver better outcomes for future projects.
